Mark Hosty, being presented with a donation from the Lower Tees Anglers Association by Chairman, Dave Munt, last summer on the bank of the Tees at Newbus Grange.
Since Mark became ill he worked diligently to improve the footpath along the riverside at Newbus Grange for the benefit of our club members and the residents of the area. He also improved the access to the river for anglers and installed several fishing platforms.
Mark raised over £1300 during the summer by running evening matches for the benefit of his charity, Anglers Against Cancer.
Regrettably Mark lost his fight against cancer just before Christmas.
Mark was a truly remarkable individual, devoted to Jean and very well-liked and respected by everyone who knew him.
Our heartfelt condolences go to Marks wife Jean and his family and friends.
Jean would like everyone to know that, since the summer, the total donations Mark has received has risen to over £1600 and is very grateful for the donations. Jean really appreciates all of the kind messages she has received from the residents at the cottages.
Jean was so overwhelmed that she had to leave before she had the opportunity to thank everyone for the support she has received and the attendance at Marks funeral and would like to do so now.
Hosty's Way sign installed to commemorate the contribution Mark made to the club water and local community.
Jean would like to thank Steve (Barney) Armstrong for clearing the the fallen tree from Marks favorite peg (20)
2019 Season
Jean would just like to express her thanks to Jeff Scarth for all his hard work and commitment to carrying on the work Mark undertook in keeping all the pathways and pegs free from debris and overhanging trees.
As you can agree this is vital to the safety of all who use this area. It was Marks legacy that someone would continue the hard work he had undertaken. Jean is so grateful for all Jeff’s unwavering efforts to keep it as Mark had wished.
